The national park of Tara is a short, 30 km (18 miles) drive from Drinska Kuća. This protected, forested area is home to more than a thousand plant species (including the unique species of spruce Picea omorica, the ‘Pančič spruce’), also bears and wild goat, and over 130 species of birds, including the rare European vulture. The area has been described as “the vision of heaven”.

Activities centre on hill walking (there are 18 mountain paths), cycling and guided treks on horseback with Rangers from the National Park.
